EightCap Review: What Pakistan Traders Need to Know

Available sources say EightCap does not currently serve Pakistan. There is no Pakistani (SECP) licence, and no verified offshore onboarding process for residents. This review explains what that means, what the broker offers globally, and how to approach your choice of an offshore broker.

Pakistan has no local retail forex or CFD licensing regime. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) handles foreign-exchange policy, while the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) regulates capital markets. Neither issues licences to retail spot-forex or CFD brokers.

What EightCap Offers

EightCap is an established global broker, founded in 2009 with headquarters in Melbourne, Australia. It is known for a deep range of CFDs and solid platform support. What the broker provides for clients in the regions it does serve:

Account TypeSpreadsCommissionMin Deposit
Standardfrom 1.0 pipNoneUSD 100
Rawfrom 0.0 pipsUSD 3.50 per lot per sideUSD 100

The asset list covers 800+ CFDs: about 56 forex pairs, indices, metals, energies, roughly 580 share and ETF CFDs, and a large crypto CFD range with 100+ coins. Platform support includes MT4, MT5, native TradingView integration, WebTrader, and TradeLocker.

GOOD TO KNOW
These account details are general. None of this is currently offered to Pakistan-based clients, so treat the numbers as context for what the brand provides elsewhere.
Base currencies depend on the region and include AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, NZD, CAD, and SGD. A PKR account is not part of the setup for any region.

Why Pakistan Is Left Out

Eightcap is a regulated broker, but its licences are held in jurisdictions like Australia and Cyprus. It does not list Pakistan among the countries it can onboard.

From a Pakistani perspective, the local framework is the bigger blocker. SBP does not permit margin-based currency trading within Pakistan. SECP does not issue licences for retail forex or CFD brokers.

WARNING
Trading with offshore brokers is only legal for residents when funded through legitimate banking channels. Using Hawala, Hundi, or unregulated platforms that bypass the banking system is illegal under SBP rules.

SECP has announced crackdowns on unlicensed currency and futures operators in 2026.

Where the Money Goes

For brokers that do serve Pakistan, moving money in and out comes with friction. Local rails include bank transfer and mobile wallets like Easypaisa and JazzCash, plus e-wallets Skrill and Neteller. Some residents route funds via USDT P2P.

For Eightcap specifically, the payment picture is not applicable, since the market is not served. The general pattern for Pakistani residents trading with offshore brokers:

  • Accounts are typically in USD, rarely PKR, so a conversion cost applies on every deposit and withdrawal.
  • USD/PKR is rarely offered as a tradable pair, so hedging that conversion is not straightforward.
  • SBP enforces active exchange controls. Outward remittances are often limited to roughly USD 10,000 per year for individuals, with card-based transactions capped near USD 30,000 annually.
  • Remittances above prescribed limits require SBP FEOD approval through banks' FX Portal.

What to Look For Instead

The regulatory reality in Pakistan means dealing with offshore entities. Not all offshore brokers are equal.

Name | What It Means for You

FCA, CySEC, ASIC regulationStrong oversight, client fund segregation requirements, established conduct rules
Segregated client fundsYour money is separate from the broker's operating capital
Transparent fee scheduleSpreads and commissions stated clearly, no hidden deductions
Long track recordOperating for 10+ years across multiple market cycles
Responsive supportLive chat or phone support that answers in minutes, not days
GOOD TO KNOW
Check the regulator's own registry before depositing. For an FCA or CySEC firm, the licence number should appear on the official register. Verify it there, not on the broker's website.

The Pakistani Tax Angle

Profits from forex and derivatives trading for residents are generally taxed as income. Where they are treated as capital gains on movable assets other than exchange-traded securities, they are taxable at normal slab rates. Crypto CFD gains are subject to a flat 15% capital gains tax.

Residents are taxed on worldwide income. If foreign income exceeds USD 10,000 or foreign assets exceed USD 100,000 in a tax year, a Foreign Income and Assets Statement must be filed with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

PRO TIP
Keep a detailed record of every deposit, withdrawal, and trade. If the FBR asks questions, a clean ledger answers them faster than reconstructing months of activity from bank statements.

Current Eligibility for Traders in Pakistan

Based on current information, you cannot. Eightcap is not available in Pakistan. There is no workaround, no special approval path, and no verified onboarding route.

Best suited for

Traders in supported regions who want deep crypto CFD coverage, access to TradingView, and transparent Raw spreads.

Not suited for

Pakistan-based traders, because the broker does not accept you as a client. Also, Pakistani residents who need an Islamic or swap-free account should verify this feature with any broker before deposit. Eightcap has conflicting reports on whether a dedicated swap-free account is consistently offered.

Questions

Can I open an Eightcap account from Pakistan?

No. Available sources clearly indicate Eightcap does not serve Pakistan, and there is no verified offshore onboarding path for residents.

Is trading with Eightcap legal in Pakistan?

Trading itself is not criminalised, but there is no local licensing regime. Residents may trade with offshore brokers regulated abroad, as long as funding goes through legitimate banking channels. Since Eightcap does not onboard Pakistani residents, the question of trading with this specific broker is moot.

What should I do if I want to trade CFDs from Pakistan?

Choose a broker that explicitly lists Pakistan among supported countries. Verify its regulation with the relevant overseas authority, confirm it offers swap-free accounts if you need one, and check that funding through bank transfer or mobile wallets is clearly documented.

Does Eightcap have a Pakistani licence?

No. Eightcap has no SECP licence, and no Pakistani onboarding has been verified. The broker operates under licences from other jurisdictions, which do not extend to Pakistan.
